Programs for Homeschoolers
Most of our programming will take place at
Killingsworth Park: 2807 Chandler Rd, Traverse City, MI 49696.(unless noted in programming details below).
At this time, all of our children’s and family programs require a parent or guardian to remain on-site during the session. We are actively working to hire an additional instructor so that we may offer drop-off classes in the future. Thank you for your continued support as we grow and expand our programs.

Planned themes include tree identification, basic outdoor survival skills, and much more.
In addition to structured lessons, we will incorporate student-led exploration days that encourage curiosity, observation, and discovery. These sessions provide opportunities for participants to follow their interests, ask questions, and fully engage with the natural environment as it unfolds around us.
Vision of Nature Taught
I would love to create a weekly space for families to connect, both with each other and with nature. Each program will be designed to get students thinking about the importance of nature and why God designed it for us. We will look at nature through the lenses of curiosity and wonder. We want to make sure we are active participants in what is already going on in nature, so that we can steward what God has given us.

(younger siblings allowed with $5.00 charge)
Cost: $20.00 per student. per class
Time: Coming Soon
Dates: Coming Soon
Lets learn to become good stewards of this earth! In this program students will learn the 7 principles of Leave No Trace and why it is important to follow these guidelines to help everyone enjoy natural outdoor spaces for years to come. We will engage in fun activities that will help us be more aware of the impact we could make on this earth, and how to minimize through fun engaging learning. These are scientific studied principles that everyone should learn if they want to engage in outdoor recreation on any level.
If you are interested in having this program run for your students please contact us. At this time we do not have dates set for this specific class, we will run it if you have a group of at least 5 students.
Nature Journaling
We will be incorporating Nature Journaling into our programs with Nature Taught. This will consist of journal prompts for the weeks lesson. The first Nature Taught program that you register and attend you will receive a nature journal. Each program you attend we will ask you to bring back your journal and we will provide a new journal prompt to add for the new week.
This is meant to get students engaged in their learning through writing and drawing. To create a journal that they can look back on and continue to add to as they learn and grow through their time in nature.
